About Runkel Landscape Associates - Lima Ottawa Wapakoneta

Runkel Landscape Associates Inc. was established in 1984 by John Runkel, Mike Fritchie and Denny Gallagher. The company was originally called Fritchie Landscaping. Shortly after its formation Jeff Howard joined the company. John Runkel and Jeff Howard were active managers of the company and in 1989 purchased stock owned by Mike Fritchie and Denny Gallagher. In 1990, the name was changed to Howard/Runkel Landscape Associates Inc. In 2011 the name was changed to Runkel Landscape Associates Inc as Jeff Howard and John Runkel parted ways. Today John and his son Sean continue to create satisfied customers.

John Runkel B.S.L.A. has a degree in Landscape Architecture from The Ohio State University This background has allowed him to become a community leader in the landscape design/build business.

In 2004, Sean Runkel CLT, joined our design/sales staff allowing us to better serve our clients needs. He has considerable training in landscape design and many years of practical landscape experience. In 2007 Sean completed his training to become a Certified Landscape Technician.

Residential and Commercial Projects Throughout Our Service Area

Over the years we have completed many residential and commercial projects. While most of our work happens within a 25 mile radius of Lima, Ohio we have projects in Ottawa, Wapakoneta, Columbus, Toledo, Dayton, Ft. Wayne, Bowling Green, Findlay and many other locations. We will look at any substantial landscaping project within a 1 1/2 hour drive of our home base.

Since 1984 we have grown from a rather small landscape firm into one of the more highly regarded companies in our area. We continue to try to be good innovators in both our landscape designs and installations so we can meet all of our clients needs.The residential jobs and commercial projects we have completed over the years have ranged from several hundred dollars to around $1,000,000.00. These projects have included plantings, decks, paver work, retaining walls, fences, outdoor structures, water features, seeding and sodding.
